This old site is now "closed". Please head over to http://www.islandoftoys.com to get in on the action. If you were a registered user who had logged into IOT within the past year, your account is probably already migrated to the new site. See you there!

Registration is disabled for new users until after the site migrates to its new software. Existing users can still post though.

This sculpt was quite difficult to paint, but I eventually got it done.
I added a bit of red to my skintone mix, and I think the result was perfect. I also used a different colour make up for the facial hair. I normally use dark brown or black, but this time, i used a bluish-grey.

Sideshow's "The Dead" line has been going for a few years now. This is currently their 9th figure (not counting variants) in the series. I was really looking forward to this figure based on the prototype photos and the fact that this is the first figure in this line to use Sideshow's new Prometheus body. I will say, overall it's a bit underwhelming... check out some pictures and read on for more info. Sorry for the poor pics...my photo setup is still not up.

Island of Toys no longer cares about toys and will be extensively covering breakdancing, salsa, waltzes, and several other types of boogie. If you came looking for toys, then you're out of luck. We only have groove in our feet now and erkwaeb/...sg3q4tp
*THUD*
Sorry about that. I don't know how he got in here. I've thrown him on a piece of driftwood and cast him off the island. It's true there's changes coming to IOT, but it'll still be toys, games, and other fun shtuff.

The world of 1/6 has been booming over the last several years (although is probably heading for a decline at any time now). We've seen some amazing figures, accessories, and even vehicles released over the past couple of years. 2008 has been no exception. There were so many excellent things released in 2008 that one would need to be a millionaire to possibly keep up with them all.
What follows is IOT's best and worst of 2008 list. Enjoy!
Most Improved Company:
1) ZC Girls - what started as a knockoff to Takara/Tomy's "Cool Girl" line is now producing some pretty nice sets.

This is a contest I posted over at the Men With Dolls forum. Feel free to hop on over there and read the directions and enter the contest! It's open to all!

I'm thinking MAYBE Scarlett Johansson? They've only released the teaser pic below:

Welcome to edbraindead's blog.
I'm going to be posting different ramblings and whatnot from time to time. Hopefully, they'll be worthwhile to read, but I'm not guaranteeing anything. :) Also, this isn't my first time to the forum, but it's been at least a year since I've been back here. I've come back with newfound responsibility. I've been given the keys to the kingdom aka the RPG Forum.
I'm going to attempt to liven it up, by adding plenty of content for people to check out. I'll try to keep it interesting.

I've decided to get rid of all the Google AdSense ads on the site. I dont' need em, you don't need em, WE don't need em!
Also removed the donation info as well. This site has always been free and will always remain free. I may do some referral type ads with Sideshow (for products I actually like and not just every single thing they sell), but I'm not going to flood the place with them. I haven't decided yet.
As of now, there are no ads or anything to this site that makes me a penny. I do it because I enjoy it. That's about it. Carry on. :)
