Island Of Toys

Please follow the rules and you are welcome to return to the island whenever you like.

1) The Island of Toys is not a democracy. It is a benevolent dictatorship. Keep this in mind. There is no voting people off the island.

2) Respect the opinions of others. You may disagree and can say such, but do not flame or harass any members. Also, don’t try to cleverly disguise insults and think it will be overlooked. It won’t.

3) No racism, sexism, sexual discrimination, or harassment. This is the one and only warning you’ll receive. You can post cheesecake and beefcake pictures if you so choose. We don’t consider that sexist, since it’s equal opportunity.

4) Be open to constructive criticism. Nobody is an expert when they start something and there’s always room to improve. Even people who are masters at a trade may learn something new from someone with “lesser” skills.

5) Don’t use negative criticism towards other members or their works. Things like “That looks dumb” or “Wow that sucks” aren’t constructive. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, then keep your thoughts to yourself. You don’t have to offer compliments either. It’s not mandatory.

6) No politics or religion allowed on the island. This is a stress free zone and we like to keep it that way. Toys based on political or religious figures are okay so long as they are done in good taste and the accompanying text isn’t offensive or preaching. Use your common sense. If you have doubts, don’t post it. This goes for “off topic” posts also. Off topic does not mean “outside the rules”.

7) No excessive foul language. Try to keep it rated PG-13.

8) No trolling. If a message looks like it was written strictly as a jab at another user, you may be banned from the island.

9) Don’t be a backseat moderator. If you see something that is against the rules, don’t post about it – report it. Use the nifty little “report post” function whenever you question whether something is “appropriate”. An admin or one of the moderators will handle it.

10) Don’t give out spoilers to books, TV shows, movies, comics, or ANYTHING without proper warning. Proper warning should be some large text that says “WARNING: SPOILERS” or something similar followed by about 10-20 blank lines.
